Partnership with St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center

The Put-in-Bay EMS recently partnered with St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. This partnership is the reason there is now a paramedic on the island year-round. Even though the population dips into the low hundred during the winter, it is imperative that island locals are taken care of.

Once the population increases during the summer, new recruits head to the island. Educated on the latest in medical procedures at St. Vincents, this team is willing and able to take care of any emergency. Three ambulances are on call on South Bass Island and one on Middle bass. Each ambulance is equipped with the latest in Advanced Life Support equipment.

The Toledo-based St. Vincent continually helps educate the Put-in-Bay staff to make sure they are up to date on all the advancements in the field. It is because of this partnership the Clinic was able to open. The Clinic is located at the EMS office and open to all.

Put-in-Bay is grateful for all the hard work of the Put-in-Bay EMS staff and the funding it receives. Visitors and locals should rest easy knowing they are in good hands.
