A true Put-in-Bay classic, The Boathouse Bar and Grill has been serving the island for over 50 years. With an extensive menu that makes everyone’s stomach growl, The Boathouse is as good as its reputation.

Sit inside and listen to music or take in a game. Or, opt for the patio, where you can enjoy gorgeous views of Lake Erie and downtown Put-in-Bay.

The perch sandwich is one of the best on Lake Erie, and really, it wouldn’t be a trip to Put-in-Bay without dining on perch. Their take on the Po Boy is equally mouth-watering. With both perch and walleye Po Boys, dine on the best Lake Erie has to offer. Or go for shrimp, oysters, or chicken. Everything at Boathouse Bar and Grill is simply scrumptious.

Testimonials

Shelby J: “My friends and I were in Put in Bay for a bachelorette party. We stopped at the Boathouse right after we got off the Jet Express. We ordered drinks from their specialty cocktail list, which were highly recommended by our server Caroline. I had the Boathouse Lemonade which was delicious. There was live entertainment while we were eating, which made for a fun atmosphere! Don’t forget to try the queso dip and the walleye sandwich! All of my friends also enjoyed their food and drinks. Spot on service with good food and a fun atmosphere. We will be back here again!”

Sarah M: “I was at the Boathouse this past Saturday and had a ball! A gentleman named John Salamon was on the piano all night playing classic sing-a-longs creating a joyous environment. Beforehand, I and three others enjoyed a hearty meal at a table outside overlooking the downtown area. I had the Chicken and Waffles, I highly recommend, perfect soul food!”

Stew D: “We spent Memorial Day weekend in Put in Bay, and this restaurant was by far my favorite. I wish we would’ve had time to go back for a second meal! The location is great for people-watching, as it’s right on one of the main corners. We enjoyed sitting outside and taking it all in. I like that they have a menu with a wide variety, and the food isn’t all deep-fried bar food. I had an excellent wrap and a side salad, and my husband had pulled pork. We were very happy with the quality and quantity of food for the price, plus the service was fast and friendly. Also, there is live music! I highly recommend visiting this restaurant, and can’t understand why there are any bad reviews on here at all. Next time we’re in Put in Bay, we WILL be back.”
