Ahoy mateys! Get ready for a pirate invasion this summer when the 6th annual Pyrate Fest Weekend lands in Put in Bay, Ohio. It all kicks off on June 20th at 4pm when historical reenactors dressed as pirates land at the Downtown harbor for a full-scale event. Watch as half a dozen boats sail in to take on the local infantry as cannons fire and mayhem ensues. After the pirates are captured, the weekend kicks off at DeRivera Park where the skull and cross bones is raised to celebrate the Pyrate Fest and participants head to local watering holes to celebrate.
Saturday June 21 is filled with family-friendly events in DeRivera Park such as the cannon and sword fighting demonstrations as well as the big costume parade and competition for kids and adults alike. Make sure to dress in your finest pirate duds! As the sun sets, the Pyrate's Ball at Boathouse Bar is the place to be for drink specials and sea chantey sing-a-long. At 9:30 pm the evening comes to a dramatic end with a fireworks display over the harbor. The fun continues Sunday and Monday with a marketplace, interactive games and a kids' fun area with tattoos and more. And don't miss famous Cardboard Boat Regatta on Monday afternoon, one of the highlights of the weekend that wraps up this annual extravaganza.
